Feel the Love

The Auction

I mentioned in the last post that we attended the auction at the Yacht Club, it was a big success.  I'm not sure what the total amount raised was but I'm sure it was a few thousand dollars.  Rob and I got into the bidding action and ended up winning a peal and Swarvoski crystal necklace made by a local woman.  It was kind of ironic seeing how I just visiting the Swarvoski store when I was in Charlotte.  The overall night was a lot of fun, we got to get our adult time in and visit with our new found friends and the boys got a chance to play with their new found friends too.

My pretty necklace my love won for me at the auction

Sailing

I'm so excited that the boys are sailors!  Christian and Nathaniel are enjoying their lessons.  Where Nathaniel was a little slow to start, Christian picked it up quickly and has a lot of potential to excel.  I think as in all things, they are complete opposites; Nathaniel would like to feel the breeze and Christian would like to make it.  Hmmm, sound like Rob and I!  They will continue to have lessons once a week for the remainder of the time we are here, it will be great to see what they learn.

Carambola

We spent Saturday at Carambola Resort and Spa, we had lunch and decided to hang out at the pool where we watched the boys challenge some local children to a volleyball game.  There were to little girls there that gave both the boys a run for their money, one was just a competitive as Christian and didn't take anything off of him during the game. Her sister and Nathaniel found their way to jacuzzi where I learned later that she gave Nathaniel a palm reading telling him that he was going to be a business man, marry a white woman, have 4 children, 2 boys and 2 girls.

Nathaniel asked why when he spends a couple of hours with a girl they start asking him if he has a girlfriend, Nana Ann explained that some girls are forward and he stated matter of fact like that he doesn't want a forward girl when he has a girlfriend.

Homeschool

The boys had the long weekend off technically from school, but it's interesting to see what opportunities arise just in the moment.  Sunday we did a lesson from Eckhart Tolley's, The Power of Now.  We read a chapter then the boys had the assignment to find 3 things, a flower, a bird, and a precious stone and to journal about each one focusing on the deeper element of looking toward the spiritual nature.  While after reading the journals, we realized that they were both very perceptive, maybe not as deep as I was initially hoping for, but definitely sweet and descriptive!

Both of the boys chose the Egret as their bird.  We were so excited to see that they finally returned after the horrific hawk incident!
